Sunshine Health is ending Wellcare Complete (H8225) and Wellcare PPO (H5199)

Wellcare is grateful for your partnership in support of our managed care products and the members we serve across Florida. Each year, as part of our normal course of business, we conduct a comprehensive annual review of our market operations and footprint.

While it has been our privilege to support the health of your patients, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the Wellcare Complete H8225 and Wellcare PPO H5199 contracts effective December 31, 2024.

Wellcare will continue to offer Wellcare HMO H1032.

Your contract with Wellcare will remain valid and no action is needed. We are committed to ensuring you have all the resources available to make this transition as smooth as possible for you and your patients. Our members are being notified of this change. Patients will have to find new Medicare plans if they wish to continue seeking treatment under your care.

Those who do not choose a new plan will still be covered by Original Medicare and Florida Agency for Health Care Administration benefits, including prescription drug coverage.

Wellcare appreciates your partnership and will continue to update our website with additional FAQs as this transition progresses. This decision was not made lightly but will enable us to better focus our strategy and resources, so we can continue transforming the health of the communities we serve, one person at a time – for years to come.
